Moving Image Arts

The Course

Moving Image Arts is a film study A-Level course. The object of both the AS and A2 courses are the same: to create a short film. This can be either live action, or animation.

AS

The film should be 5-8 minutes of Live Action, or 3 minutes of animation.

There should be a 1 minute production exercise, exploring a key element, style, or form in your film.

You should also provide an e-portfolio of your research and development work: referencing your influences; showing your pre-production material, including your storyboards, screenplay, etc; and evaluationg your film.

A2

The course is very similar to the AS. The differences are:

The film should be 8-10 minutes long of live action, or 5 minutes of animation.

the e-portfolio should include an Illustrated essay exploring a director, artist, or form which have informed your own film.

Both courses have an on-line exam at the end. Coursework is 70%, the controlled test is 30%
